SM Stationery Art Fest 2018

SM Stationery Art Fest 2018

I've been teaching workshops for some quite some time now so it feels so good to be a student this time around! I'm lucky to be invited in this year's SM Stationery Art Fest Launch at Mega Fashion Hall, SM Megamall and got to attend workshops of different topics. Of course, the place is inviting enough for you to be productive in your remaining summer days and for you to explore different art materials from different participating brands (also read: hoard). This year's participating brands are: IFEX Papers, Faber-Castell, Dong-A, Artline, Tokyo Finds, Elmer's, Pilot Pens, and Sakura.

During the launch, we had the following fun activities, which will also be part of the weekend's roster of demonstrations and workshops: Papercutting by Wednesday Sambile (IFEX Ph), Psychedelic Art by Evanna Chan (Sakura Art Ph), Doodle Typography Portraiture by Monie Domer (Don-A/Faber-Castell), Still Life Sketching by Steph Alvarez (Pilot Pens), Floral Wreath Painting by Thea Ong-Po (Tokyo Finds) and Slime Making by Jill Dungco (Elmer's). Check out the fun I had during the launch from the photos below (and a short video at the end of this post):

Fine papers from IFEX. Love their Curious Translucent Paper :)

Psychedelic Art + Doodle Typography Portraiture

I actually did this! I rarely do realistic drawings but I did well, I think.

This set from Tokyo Finds is good for beginners esp you're on about its color selection.

Crowd fave is Slime Making! We enjoyed making our Glow in the Dark slime.

Of course, you'll get to experience same fun this weekend, May 12-13 at Mega Fashion Hall with the following (more!!!) activities, too, just check out these photos for the list of activities and mechanics on how to join (technically, it's for free with a minimum purchase worth of Php300 from participating brands).

I won't let this post be just about the weekend's event but also to share my interesting finds. Here are some eye-catching art materials I've found during the launch (and you'll probably see them on the weekends, too). Participating brands were so generous to spare us (workshop students) with some goodies after the classes! :) :

1. Stabilo Swing Cool Pastel Highlighters

Another add-on in my Pastels Collection! Hooray!

2. Elmer's Glitter Glue

It definitely reminded me of ol’ good grade school days!

3. Pilot Juice Pens

4. Sakura Art Pens in Gelly Roll White (comes in 05, 08, 10 tips)

5. Curious Translucent Paper from IFEX Fine Papers

To sum it up, I HAD FUN! I hope you will, too, if you join them this weekend! Here's a short clip for you to see what's in store for you in a creative weekend! :) Don't forget to SUBSCRIBE in my Youtube Channel by clicking the video below and hit SUBSCRIBE (or SUBSCRIBE here).
